Ping! is an innovative three year street ping pong project which provides people with opportunities to play social and competitive table tennis, free of charge. The aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK playing – to bring about a sense of community spirit and get more people playing sport in the run up to and during the Olympics. In 2010 Ping! London saw 100 ping-pong tables pop up across the capital’s landmarks – from Soho Square to Westfield Shopping Centre, Tate Britain to the British Library to Heathrow’s Terminal 3.  In 2011, Ping! expanded to two cities; Birmingham and Hull. From Cadbury World to The Hippodrome and from Paragon Station to the Museum Quarter, the tables made their mark on the public. This year there are nearly 300 PIng! tables in England alone and two of them are at Greenwich Summer Festival!! Come on down and take up a bat, the tables are completely free to use and open to all.
